From April 1, 2002 to June 30, 2006, the rate of GST and HST was 7% and 15%, respectively;
From July 1, 2006 to December 31, 2007, the rate of GST and HST was 6% and 14%, respectively ;
Effective January 1, 2008, the rate of GST has been established at 5%.
As of July 2010, the rate of HST was 12% in British Columbia; 13% in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador, respectively and 15% in Nova Scotia.
